At the International Conference on Robotics and Automation held in London in June 2023: “ICRA”, the paper presented in 2004 “Humanoid Robot HRP-2” was awarded.

We will introduce it in the comments of our section manager, Kawasumi, who participated in the award ceremony;

“The research and development paper on the biped robot HRP-2, which was developed by our company 20 years ago, was awarded as the paper that had the most impact on other papers in the past 22-18 years. On that day, I went to the venue to congratulate Kenji Kaneko, a senior researcher at AIST who will be participating in the award ceremony. While remembering the more than 10 years of research and development of the HRP series with my predecessors, I feel a sense of joy and pride.

After receiving the award, the three of us, Dr. Kaneko, Professor Kensuke Harada of Osaka University, and I, took pictures at the photo booth next to the stage. Professor Harada has also been devoting himself to the research and　development of the HRP series at AIST for many years, and I was thrilled to be able to share the joy of gathering with them after such a long time.
